• Geoff Allwright - Travel And Expenses Manager, EADS Airbus

   

  Geoff is the Travel and Expense manager for EADS / Airbus UK. EADS have a global Travel Team that has successfully implemented a fully integrated on-line travel booking and expense management process. Geoff has previously been employed by HP and Intel as a Travel Manager.

• Dennis Bailey - Owner, Denovo Management

   

  Dennis is a Business Travel “veteran” with 20 years experience of managing multi million pound travel programmes for a variety of multinational organisations including Ford Motor Company, Fiat, CNH & Ove Arup & Partners.
  
  In 2007, he set up his own consultancy business, Denovo Management Ltd, to provide either outsourced travel management services or project based consultancy to a range of clients from large multinationals to the SME market.

• Jonathan Green - Associate, JMP Consultants

   

  Having stumbled on the business travel and meeting sector as internal auditor in 2003, Jonathan stayed put to become Defra’s first Sustainable Travel Manager. He was an instrumental in making change happen and delivered a travel transformation programme that saw the team win the UK Public Sector Procurement Award in 2007. In the same year Jonathan was a Steering Committee Member for ACTE, a specialist advisor to UK government’s procurement agency, as well as advisor to business led sustainability and carbon taskforces. As one of the first movers utilising CSR as a strategic management tool, he advocates the core business values of CSR and focuses on opportunities where it pays dividends to be green.

   

  Recruited by Transport Consultants JMP in the summer of 2008 to establish their business travel consultancy offer, he now leads a team advising a range of clients on travel management and CSR. His work has achieved mainstream media coverage with articles in The Financial Times, The Daily Telegraph and The Scotsman, and as well as coverage on BBC and Sky News. Jonathan is an advisory board member of Project ICARUS and on the Editorial Advisory Board of publicsectortravel.com. 

• Jamie Hindhaugh - Head of Production - L2012, British Broadcasting Corporation

   

  Jamie Hindhaugh joined the BBC in 1996 as a call centre operative and progressed to eventually manage and then outsource the BBC Transport department.
  
  In 2003 Jamie moved into BBC Procurement as a senior category manager for transport and travel services and then in 2005 was promoted to the Head of Sourcing for Production Resources and Head of Logistics at the BBC.   These two significant roles covered:
  
  - Sourcing for Post Production and Graphics, Studios, Lighting, Scenery, Props, Outside Broadcasts, Locations, Shooting, Make Up, Costume, Radio and Music Facilities, New Media, Content, Knowledge and Reference.
  
  - Logistics for the total BBC Transport and BBC Travel services from the provision of ground transport and fleet services to more traditional flight,  rail and hotel programmes.
  
  Whilst maintaining the Head of Sourcing Logistics role in August 2009 Jamie moved into his current role as Head Of Production L2012 responsible for the main events to be broadcast in all genres by the BBC across all platforms starting with New Years Eve celebrations and culminating in the 2012 London Olympics
  
  Jamie is also the Chairman of the Institute of Travel and meetings (ITM)

• Jafles Fernandes Pacheco - Head of Global Travel, OC Oerlikon

   

  After some years in charge of strategic purchasing for indirect materials in Germany, Jafles managed the European travel spend of a global food company and was in charge of the Global transition to a new TMC.
  
  Today, as Head of Global Travel at Oerlikon, his main focus is to manage the Global travel spend through a network of travel champions located in each of Oerlikon’s core markets, drive economies of scales as well as achieve process improvements and traveller satisfaction.

   

• Marijke Poppink - Travel Manager EMEA, Reed Elsevier

   

  Marijke has worked with Reed Elsevier for 10 years. Before that she was office manager at a large TMC and this experience proved to be very helpful in her current job. She was named the winner of the “Best Use of Technology in a Travel Programme” category at the 2010 ETB Awards.

   

   

   

   

   

• James Rumsey - Procurement and Facilities Management Director, Michael Page International

   

  James began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1998 working with the audit practice on a new venture developing internet security.  In this role, he was responsible for all areas of procurement including travel.  Throughout the following 12 years, James held various procurement positions until he joined Michael Page International plc in 2007.
  
  Joining probably the world’s most respected recruitment agency, James was charged with setting up a greenfield procurement department.  This function has grown significantly over the past couple of years and now operates the travel function.  This includes the procurement and organisation of major events, through to the global hotel programme and developing relationships with travel suppliers.

• Huub Smeets - Managing Partner, Partnership Travel Consulting International (PTCi)

   

  Huub Smeets is an Executive with extensive experience and track record of success in directing, managing and overseeing national, European and Global procurement, travel and facilities functions.
  
  Huub’s passion for excellence, serves as a builder and catalyst towards company goals and deliverables, offers excellent management and project control and is able to adapt to different management and cultural styles. His mother tongue is Dutch but he is also fluent in English and German.
  
  During his corporate career Huub worked for multiple Fortune 500 companies such as Philips Electronics, IBM, Rockwell Automation and BMC Software and is the co-founder of Dutch based CORTAS, the Corporate Travel Association.
  
  In 2009, Huub and his business partner Andrew Menkes co-founded, Partnership Travel Consulting International (PTCi), in Europe, to augment Partnership Travel Consulting LLC, founded in 2001 in the US.

• Ilya Strumane - Procurement Category Manager T&E - Fleet EEMEA, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company

   

  Ilja Strumane, Procurement Manager T&E, Fleet EEMEA for GoodyearDunlop, has been working in the travel industry for over 10 years having an extensive management background in both corporate and travel environments.
  
  After finishing University she worked for Decathlon as a purchasing manager in France and Belgium. Hit by the travel industry bug whilst being the sales manager for KLM Dutch Airlines she built up her experience as a Global Travel Manager at Anheuser Busch Inbev.
  
  In between these 2 functions she worked 3.5 years for Thomas Cook were she was the contracting manager for Air and Rail.
  
  She  joined Goodyear Dunlop a year ago where she is currently the Corporate Purchasing Manager Travel and Fleet for Europe, Middle East and Africa.

• Cindy Van der Elst - EMEA Travel Manager, Honeywell

   

  Cindy Van der Elst is currently Travel Manager of Honeywell for Europe, Middle East and Africa. She is based at the Honeywell Offices at Brussels, Belgium. Cindy joined Honeywell in 2004, where at first she was the Travel Manager for Honeywell Europe and purely focused on travel operations.
  
  In January 2006 she became responsible for the complete E2E T&E strategy and processes in 32 countries in the EMEA region.
  
  As from 2008 Cindy is part of the Honeywell Indirect Procurement organization which also places her in charge of the regional sourcing activities for the complete EMEA T&E commodity now.
  
  Prior to joining Honeywell, Cindy has spent nearly 10 years in a variety of roles in the travel business including working for Delta Airlines and Carlson Wagonlit. 
  
  Cindy is a certified Six Sigma Greenbelt and she created & implemented measurement-based T&E and Sourcing strategies that focus on process improvement and cost optimization through the application of Six Sigma tools.
  
  She is also an active member in different travel associations like ACTE (Association of Corporate Travel Executives), NBTA (National Business Travel Association), BATM (Belgium Association of Travel Managers) and the American Express Travel Advisory Board.
